The rules, in plain English

These are the terms that govern your use of owillow. In using the service, you're agreeing to them. We've tried to write them like a human, but there's some legal structure here because there has to be. If you have questions, email hello@owillow.com and we'll explain.

owillow is a service that helps homeowners and property managers gather quotes from contractors. You describe the project you want done; we reach out to local contractors on your behalf, track their replies, and help you compare their quotes. You decide which contractor (if any) to hire.

owillow is a communication and coordination tool. We are not a contractor, a general contractor, a licensed tradesperson, or a construction professional. We do not perform the work, oversee the work, or guarantee the work. Any agreement for services is solely between you and the contractor you choose to hire.

To use most of owillow, you need an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and not share your account with anyone else. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use owillow. If you're signing up on behalf of a business (like a property management company), you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to these terms.

This is central to how owillow works, so read carefully. By using owillow, you expressly authorize us to:

• Send emails and text messages on your behalf to contractors you identify as candidates for your project. These communications will use your real name and a relay email address (@mail.owillow.com) so replies stay organized. We will not impersonate you beyond representing your genuine project intent.
• Receive, read, classify, and store replies from contractors sent to the relay address. Our systems process replies automatically to identify quotes, questions, scheduling requests, and similar, so we can surface the relevant items to you.
• Draft and send follow-up responses on your behalf for routine matters (acknowledgments, confirmations, scheduling logistics). For anything that requires your judgment — accepting a quote, agreeing to a price change, confirming a site visit — we will ask you first.
• Use aggregated and anonymized data derived from your project (typical pricing ranges, response rates, common scopes) to improve the service and provide market benchmarks to other users. We will never publish or share information that identifies you, the property, or any individual contractor's pricing.

You can withdraw these authorizations at any time by canceling an active project or deleting your account. Once withdrawn, we will stop initiating new communications, but messages already sent cannot be unsent.

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive SMS messages from owillow about your projects, including messages from our automated project assistant, Lisa. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS. Reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your account.

You agree not to:

• Use owillow for any illegal purpose, or in violation of any law
• Submit fake projects, impersonate someone else, or provide false information
• Attempt to access accounts, projects, or data that don't belong to you
• Interfere with the service (scraping, automated querying, security testing without permission, etc.)
• Use owillow to harass, defame, or threaten any contractor or other user
• Submit spam, malware, or malicious content through the service
• Resell, relicense, or sublicense access to owillow without our written agreement

If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account without notice.

Contractors listed or contacted through owillow are independent third parties. We find them through public sources (like business directories) and reach out to them on your behalf. We do not vet, certify, endorse, or guarantee any contractor's licensing, insurance, workmanship, or suitability for your project.

Before hiring any contractor, we strongly recommend you independently verify their credentials: confirm they are licensed and insured for the work, check references and reviews, and get a written contract that covers scope, price, and timeline.

Any dispute about a contractor's work, pricing, or conduct is between you and the contractor. owillow is not a party to that relationship and is not liable for it.

owillow is free to start. Some features require a paid plan; current pricing is listed at owillow.com. Paid plans bill through our payment processor, and fees are charged in advance on the cycle you select (per-project or monthly).

You can cancel a paid plan at any time. We don't offer automatic refunds for unused time on a paid cycle, but if something genuinely went wrong, email us and we'll work it out.

You keep full ownership of everything you upload or submit to owillow (project descriptions, photos, preferences). You grant us a limited license to use this content for the purpose of running the service — sending it to contractors you're requesting quotes from, displaying it in your dashboard, and processing replies.

We may use anonymized, aggregated versions of your content (stripped of your name, address, and any personal details) to improve the service and produce benchmarks, per Section 3.

Everything about owillow itself — the software, the brand, the name "Lisa," the logo, the design — is ours. You get a limited, personal license to use the service as intended. You don't get any rights to copy, reverse engineer, or build competing products from our stuff.

You can close your account at any time from your settings or by emailing support@owillow.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if we're required to by law, or if continuing to serve you creates a risk to the service or other users. We'll give you notice when we reasonably can.

owillow is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the service running, the data accurate, and the contractor matches useful — but we can't guarantee any specific outcome (number of quotes, response time, fit for your project, or work quality).

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, owillow's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $100.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, or damages caused by a contractor you hired through the service.

You agree to indemnify and hold owillow harmless from any claims, damages, or costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of someone else's rights.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in DuPage County, Illinois, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these terms occasionally. If the changes are material, we'll give you notice (by email or in the product) at least 14 days before they take effect. Minor or clarifying updates may be posted without notice — the effective date at the top will always reflect the current version.

Continuing to use owillow after an update means you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can close your account at any time.
